Every Wednesday, 7th and 8th Graders ride the bus from the Middle School in Remsen to Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus. Why? Because they want to go to youth group!

If you ask them why they come to youth group, you'll get different answers. Some will talk about the snacks and games. Others will say it is their safe place to be themselves. Others will talk about the lessons or the small group discussions. Still more will say it is because they can ask any question and not be shamed for not knowing the answer. We believe it is because their lives are being changed as they experience God at work!

Most of our middle school students are not United Methodist. Some are Catholic, others are Lutheran, and others don't have a church at all. That's ok because we don't emphasize Methodist beliefs at youth group. We emphasize Christian beliefs that we all agree on, like the Lord's Prayer and the Apostle's Creed. When a student asks as question that we know different churches disagree on, we say, "Here is what we believe at this church - but your church might believe something different. Christians can disagree and still be Christian. Ask your pastor or priest and see what they believe."

7th and 8th grade youth group meets every Wednesday after school until 5:30 p.m. When school has a scheduled early-out, we simply start youth group early but continue the full time until 5:30 p.m.
